About
Inspired by the poems of Sulpicia (the only ancient Roman female poet whose work survives), performer-composer Elliot Menard presents an experimental opera-pop work with voice, electronics, improvisation, Latin poetry, and movement. Paired with Nico Patino’s original poetry on becoming, the performance explores the act of speaking oneself into existence and the blurred boundaries between subject/object and word/body. Curated and directed by Vida Patricia Rodriguez, the performance also features movement by Epicenter and sculpture-light installation by Michael MacLean.
